Our Lady Assumed into Heaven is the striking Roman Catholic parish church in the heart of Doonbeg, County Clare. This modern church, built in 1976, is characterized by its unique octagonal architecture and beautiful stained-glass windows that provide a special play of light in the interior. The church forms the spiritual center of the parish and houses the historic church bell from 1923. In the vicinity, the ruins of Killard recall the rich religious heritage dating back to the 6th century and Saint Senan.

I personally spoke with the pastor, who had just opened the church. He explained with great enthusiasm about the church, parish, and the stained-glass windows. The artwork for him was the only stained-glass window with a religious motif, a donation. The other windows indeed let in a lot of light.
