The chapel of Evegnée, a listed monument, whose current appearance dates largely from 1695, was restored in 1992. At its feet stretches the cemetery whose surrounding wall shelters a centuries-old lime tree. This wall is adorned at the front with a wrought iron gate and a 19th century gate.

This chapel of Romanesque architecture is built in coal sandstone and surrounded by a cord of freestone. In the base are encrusted crosses from the old cemetery. The walls are pierced with arched windows. At the front, a square tower, squat and massive, surmounts a blind wall. A 1695 porch adjoining it gives access to the interior. This one, very simple, consists of a single nave extended by a three-sided apse.

The furniture and paintings date from the end of the 17th and 18th centuries. The painted coffered ceiling from 1925 is the work of J. Cambresier.

The famous oak statue “Sedes Sapientiae”, Mary, Throne of Wisdom, has contributed to the influence of the chapel for centuries. A second Madonna, from the early 14th century Gothic period, with a less austere appearance, sits enthroned to the left of the choir.
