The Church of S. Pietro is located in the historic center of Arzachena, next to the town hall. The current building was built in 1934 not far from where the old 18th-century church once stood. It consists of a single simple hall, lit by two windows in the middle of the side walls, with the facade facing north-east towards the main square. On the back wall of the presbytery, in a niche, there is a statue of the Apostle Peter. In the corners are statues of the Virgin and Saint Joseph.

    Facade:
The main entrance with three low steps is set in the middle of the façade and a granite arched window opens above the door. A large arch of trachyte cannons characterizes the main facade, which ends with the bell gable in the ridge of the roof.

    Attachment:
Single nave hall with main entrance on the facade and side entrance, now walled up, in the first bay on the right. The presbytery, raised by one step, occupies the south-western part, in the middle there is a wooden altar. In both side walls, in the second bay window, there is a high square window that ensures natural lighting of the hall.

    Structural plant:
Vertical structures in continuous masonry, built with medium-sized blocks of granite, with three reinforcing pillars on each side. The roof, newly built in 2000, consists of half-timbering and a wooden framework with a layer of bricks on the outside.

    Story:

    before 1776 – 1869 (existing old church)
The construction date is unknown. In 1776 the church of S. Pietro is mentioned in the registers of the parish archives as a burial place. The dead continued to be buried at this site until 1869.

1934 – 1934 (demolition of the old church)
The old church, not far from the present one, was demolished.

1934 - 1938 (construction of the new church)
The church was built at its current location and consecrated in 1938.

1943 - 1945 (change in use of the church)
The building is used as a military hospital.

    1999 – 2000 (church restoration)
In 2000, the church, which was in a precarious situation, underwent a general renovation: the floor, roof and plaster were renewed.
