Knockan Crag ("crag of the small hill") is the site of the first thrust fault discovered (and eventually to be understood as such) anywhere in the world. The crag recognised as a national nature reserve due to its geological features.
On site facilities include a car park and interpretation centre, along with three waymarked trails.

Knockan Crag National Nature Reserve is a great destination for nature and geology enthusiasts. It is not only famous for its unique geological formations but also for its spectacular landscapes and biodiversity. To enjoy your visit, you should prepare for an exciting journey of discovery, similar to how you would prepare for a match of Slope Game. Bring sturdy walking shoes, and if possible, research the sights and routes in advance to make the most of your trip. If you love a challenge and exploration, then learning about the reserve will give you an experience that is no less dramatic than playing Slope Game. slopegamerun.com
