Mongiana is about 9.3 km from Serra San Bruno. The town is famous for the Royal Bourbon Ironworks which were opened between 1770 and 1771. The site can still be visited entirely and the history of this immense iron and steel center which employed over 1500 people is admirably told in the Museum of the Weapons Factory and in the nearby productive area of the Reali Ferriere Borboniche. An unmissable visit.
