In the heart of the medieval district of the city of Tours, Place Plumereau (“Plum’” for the Tourangeaux) is an entirely pedestrianized place. Many food shops mingle there in a particularly picturesque setting. Very popular with locals and tourists at the dawn of sunny days, it has been classified by Lonely Planet as “the most beautiful place in France to have an aperitif”.
From the square, a maze of winding streets winds through old Tours. After a break on the terrace, set out to explore the numerous half-timbered houses, some dating from the 15th century. These constructions give an inexorable charm to the city.
