The mansions, which stand so powerfully on the slope, are the most visible sign from the salt works - they represent the wealth of the salt miners from the Middle Ages to the 20th century. Mountain officials lived and worked in the villa-like buildings before the transition to the Samertal valley until 150 years ago. The houses are not open to the public.
