Hiking
In the south of Thuringia in the district of Hildburghausen you can discover a little jewel. It is the former moated castle of Marisfeld, which was first mentioned in documents around 1100 and was destroyed several times in the Middle Ages. Today's excellently restored building with its striking four towers dates from 1665 and is used by the Diakonisches Werk as a children's home.
