This is a great section of the hike and it is downhill more or less from here. The views are great too as this is a nice rolling valley with the Harthope Burn snaking it's way through it.

Harthope Valley is treacherous, there is lots of stone stepping across the rivers, one area of the path has completely dissappeared and it's all very boggy. We walked up to The Cheviot backwards and had to turn back due to holes everywhere and couldn't see a clear path on where to go, there is no set path up Cairn hill and very boggy.
