The Garibaldi Lake Trail is a popular moderate hike covering approximately 12 miles (round trip) with nearly 3,300 feet of elevation gain. Turquoise Garibaldi Lake, when not frozen, and alpine mountains make the area one of British Columbia's most scenic hiking destinations.
The wide hiking trail is well maintained, the first half is winding with a pleasant incline uphill, the second half is flatter. In spring, when there is persistent snow, walking the path from an altitude of approx. 1,300 m is difficult and time-consuming.

Due to high hiker traffic, access to Garibaldi Lake via the Rubble Creek parking lot is limited from June 14th to October 9th, 2023, i.e. a free day pass is required and should be reserved in advance at:

We did this the night before. Access was also controlled by ranchers, there was additional information. There is a small campsite at the top of the lake so the trail could also be divided.
