A special feature of the church are two easily recognizable chessboard stones: A chessboard stone is located on the south side of the nave, next to the southwest corner. A special feature: the chess board is in the form of isosceles triangles in a square.
A second chessboard piece can be found on the south side of the nave, on the west side towards the tower, at the very bottom of the base.

The church of St. Maximilian Kolbe was built in the late 13th century with a rectangular floor plan without a choir or tower. In the 19th century, the tower was built from brick and the sacristy was added to the south wall. After 1945, the church was unused, partially destroyed and fell into disrepair. In 1976, it was rebuilt as a parish church.
