Mountain biking
The name comes from the carts that clattered down the valley here. It clattered when the so-called Klaffelholz hit the spokes of the wheels.
The carters took the branches from the surrounding trees to brake, which of course contributed to additional erosion of the sunken road.
In the last century, the path was particularly used when the mirror factory in Lohr was at its peak and the necessary glass panes had to be transported from the glassworks in Rechtenbach down to Lohr.
