After the Naturfreunde Lichtenwald was founded in 1949, there was also a spring not far from the Naturfreundehaus. The nature lovers surrounded the spring and turned it into a small fountain, i.e. Brünnele. Because the source was nameless, it was now given the name Naturfreunde Brünnele through the construction of the fountain.
