Stone resting benches are among the traffic ments within the extensive group of clothing monuments. Their location had always been chosen with care, mostly on higher ground o: halfway between towns.
Such a bench, also called the "Marter" at the highest point on the former Kirchweg between Unternzenn and Egenhausen. Path, which used to be used by porters, has been forgotten due to land consolidation measures. The bench, however, which must have been erected here more than four hundred years ago, is reminiscent of a bloody deed.
