The fountain "The Healing Power of Water" was built in 1906, at the same time as the "New Government" was being built, based on plans by the Berlin sculptor Karl Ludwig Manzel (1858-1936). The three larger-than-life bronze figures depict three warriors "in heroic nudity", with one warrior carrying his wounded comrade and the third warrior giving the wounded man the healing water. The "patriotic-heroic" statement of this fountain is a typical example of the sculpture and architecture of the Wilhelmine Empire. The historical "model" for this fountain is probably the monumental, considerably larger Manzel fountain in Stettin (1898), which was partially restored by the Poles after 1945.
