In 1900, the city council decided to build a new facility to replace the previous city school (Robert-Koch-Str. 9). It was officially inaugurated on October 21, 1903. Today, the elementary school is housed here.
After just a few years, the number of students increased so much that an extension was necessary. Immediately before the start of the First World War in 1914, this extension with the Kühnstraße entrance was opened. Today, the secondary school is housed in it.
