Moorriem is a medieval, rural marshland settlement on the outskirts of Elsfleth, with a rural cultural history. This area with its 13 half-timbered villages invites you to visit with its tranquility. Numerous listed half-timbered farms and thatched roof houses, some of which are 300 years old, have been restored with attention to detail. Country life has remained lively, characterized by agriculture and horse breeding.
Old farm gardens are particularly worth seeing and can be particularly admired on a bike tour. Once a year, some locals prepare their gardens specially so that visitors can view them.Moorriem is a 16 km long strip of settlement between the Weser and Oldenburg. It begins east of Oldenburg in Moorhausen and extends through Butteldorf and Bardenfleth to Neuenbrok.

There are a number of half-timbered houses along this route, often at the end of a long driveway.

My recommendation! Nice part on the official route of the Oldenburg circumnavigation.
