Vinetaplatz
Wedding (Fountain of Health),
bounded by Ruppiner and Wolliner Strasse and crossed by Swinemünder Strasse.

Since 1874 it has borne the name of Vineta, a legendary city which, according to one version, was on the island of Wollin and which is said to have perished in a storm surge in 1183. 1887-1889 the Vinetaplatz was designed with two symmetrical decorative squares according to plans by Herrmann Mechtig. In 1918 the decorative areas were replaced by children's play areas. In 1930 it was redesigned according to plans by Rudolf Germer. Günther Rieck planned the redesign of the square in 1949. From 1980 to 1990 the square was given its current appearance.

It is divided into different areas (e.g. play, sports and quiet zones) and is part of a traffic-calmed green corridor that crosses Stralsunder and Swinemünder Strasse. There are numerous sculptures on and around Vinetaplatz, the 2 m high concrete sculpture of a fish, the "three fountain basins", the "hippopotamus fountain" and a handle pump on the south side.
