The wild lions of Workum

For centuries, the coat of arms of the city of Workum has been supported by two lions. They appear naïve and their theatrical pose makes us laugh. But as the Fountain of Workum, firmly on the ground and larger than life, they are no longer secondary characters, but play the leading role.
