Walik is a small, very old hamlet in the North Brabant municipality of Bergeijk and is located a few hundred meters west of the village of Riethoven.
The hamlet dates back to the early Middle Ages. Walik is best known because Maarten Boodewyns or Bouwens was born here, who was later known as bishop Martinus Riethovius, also spelled Rythovius (1511-1583). A bench commemorates this person who was bishop of Ypres in the 16th century.
The core of Walik includes a number of thatched long-gabled farms, two of which date from 1840 and a third is somewhat younger.
