In 1947, a chapel was built on the banks of the Keersop in Westerhoven in memory of the fallen of the Second World War. Close to the famous Valentinusputje. Een kapel met een waterputje. Is deze waterput een bron; waarom staat het water in het putje naast de kapel dan hoger dan dat van de erlangs stromende Keersop? Géén vraag is het, of het putwater een heilzame werking heeft op huidziektes en vallende ziekte. Tijdens het bouwen van de kapel op grondvesten van weleer, direct na de laatste W.O., zijn 4 eiken balken blootgelegd, waaruit men heeft kunnen concluderen, dat er ook al in de middeleeuwen een kapel stond vlakbij de geneeskrachtige bron. In vroegere tijden ging men naar dit heilzame putje voor ‘de driedaagse-’ of bibberkoorts.
