The Church of St. Simon of Valmiera is a Lutheran church in Valmiera. The stone church on the steep banks of the Gauja River was built in 1283 and is one of the oldest churches in Latvia. The name of the church is believed to be related to its dedication on the day of Simjud (Simon and Jude) - October 28 (Wikipedia).
