This farm has a remarkable history. In 1944, the Schut family lived on the Balsvoort farm in the Kampina region: brothers Hein and Theo lived there with their mother; their father had died before the war, and brother Bernard lived with his family in Oirschot. The family sheltered several refugees, while Hein and Theo were active in the resistance, supplying several hiding places. The Oisterwijk resistance temporarily held seven German prisoners there, but due to the presence of other people in hiding and new evacuees, they were asked to house these prisoners elsewhere.
