The life expectancy of a carp in the wild is 20 years. With a normal body length of 40 - 80 cm, it reaches a weight of 2 - 14 kg. In individual cases, however, carp grow up to 120 centimeters long and weigh more than 40 kilograms. A British angler caught the world's largest carp on his holiday in Thailand in 2013. According to Spiegel Online, the animal weighed a whopping 60 kilograms.
