A couple of good little byway sections which cut out the main road part of the national cycle network link from Rotherham to Rother Valley Country Park.
Doles Lane is a pleasant gravel surface navigable on just about any bike and with commanding views over the rolling hills south of Rotherham.
The second section beyond the road crossing (Stow Bridge Lane, Stoket Lane) comprises a great fun singletrack descent followed by a slightly more technical and tough climb up from Ulley Brook on a surface of loose boulder and brick with small wooden steps to negotiate.
Use Turnshaw/Ulley Lane to connect into Rother Valley and the rest of the Trans Pennine Trail.

The section from the bottom of the field after Morthern Lane, up to the Wind Turbines is very rutted, has loose stones & rocks, and a few inset timbers laid across the trail which are very slippy when wet 👍
