The weir and the fish pass were rebuilt from November 1994 to October 1995. The weir system consists of a fixed weir with a crest width of 80 m. When the weir and the lock in Freyburg were reconstructed or put back into operation, a new fish ladder was built at the same time, which is intended to enable the Unstrut to pass through this transverse structure for migrating fish species and invertebrates.
