Location: Halver, Märkischer Kreis, Arnsberg District, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany
The Ennepe is a left tributary of the Volme on the north-western edge of the Sauerland and in the southern Ruhr area. The Ennepe rises in the Märkisches Kreis southeast of the town of Halver at an altitude of 425 m above sea level. NN and is dammed in the urban area of Breckerfeld to the Ennepetalsperre (307 m above sea level).The further course leads via Ennepetal, Gevelsberg and the western Hagen district of Haspe, before it closes near the Hagen main station in the district of Eckesey at about 100 m above sea level. NN flows into the Volme, which in turn flows into the Ruhr shortly afterwards in Hagen-Vorhalle.
