Very nice mill on the Düte with a beautiful watercourse and mill lake. It is a pity that it is not used as an energy plant today.

In 1672, Pastor Rumpius from Wersen praised the Tüchter mill on the Düte as an "excellent grain mill". At that time, this fulling and grain mill had already been in service for around 500 years. In the 13th/14th century, the sovereign Count of Tecklenburg had the Tüchter mill built, as well as many other mills, in order to exploit the water power.
The Tüchter mill has been owned by the Tüchter family since 1862. Even during the First World War, it supplied 110 volt electricity to 19 customers in Wersen. However, as more and more farmers purchased electric grist mills, farms baked their own bread less and less, and large mills took over the production of fine flour, the Tüchter mill lost its importance. It was shut down at the end of the 1950s. Its milling mechanism has been preserved, and above the gable the coat of arms of the Counts of Tecklenburg still bears witness to its history (source muehlenweg-am-wiehengebirge.de/muehlen)
