The previous church (16th century), located on the same site, was burnt down in 1936 during the Civil War. It was in 1958 when the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption was inaugurated.

It is a large building and a considerable height highlighting the high bell tower visible from many points in the town. It has a single nave with a barrel vault and has chapels on both sides. The most striking thing about it is the vaulted vault of the transept as well as the outer tower.
