Place de la Trinité (in Occitan: plaça de la Trinitat) is a square in Toulouse, capital of the Occitanie region, in the South of France. It is located north of the Carmes district, in sector 1 - Center. This small triangular square was only developed during the 19th century. It is located at the site of an important crossroads of the Roman city of Tolosa, since this is where the intersection of the cardo maximus and the decumanus maximus was, and therefore the heart of the city. It remains, in the Middle Ages, an important place which benefits from the activity of the Main Street, which goes from the place du Salin to the place du Capitole: craftsmen, merchants and capitouls settle there until the 18th century. Cleared by the city architect Jacques-Pascal Virebent in 1820 and adorned with a fountain by the architect Urbain Vitry, it saw most of its buildings refurbished in the 19th century and offers beautiful facades, such as the Lamothe house. Made pedestrian in the 1990s, lined with cafes that set up their terraces, it is one of the most pleasant squares in the city.
