The Donaupark in Vienna is a park area of more than 60 hectares north of the Danube in the 22nd district of Donaustadt and is well connected to the city's public transport network with the underground line 1 via the Kaisermühlen/VIC and Alte Donau stops.The park was created between 1961 and 1964 on the site of the former Kagran military firing range and the Bruckhaufen rubbish dump for the Vienna International Garden Show - WIG 64.In the Danube Park as it exists today, there are large meadows, groves and shrub areas as well as various flower areas.Fountain in the Irissee in the Donaupark Vienna ...The Irissee covers an area of around 30,000m² and numerous paths run through the park.If you want to take it a little easier, you can take a tour on the park railway, which runs on more than three kilometers of tracks.
This is a sister railway to the Liliputbahn in Vienna's Prater and has been in operation since WIG 64.
