Bike Touring Highlight
Spanning the River Tweed from Horncliffe to Fishwick and therefore the border between England and Scotland, cycling over the Union Suspension Bridge is a beautiful experience.
The bridge was opened in 1820 to carry traffic over the River Tweed.
Spanning 137 meters (449 feet), it used to be the longest iron suspension bridge in the world. Today, it is still the oldest suspension bridge carrying road traffic and is a Grade I listed building.
