In the forest section between Höllental and Mainleite, a whole series of boundary stones have been preserved that marked the territory of the imperial city of Schweinfurt, which existed until 1802. As an imperial city, Schweinfurt was directly subject to the empire and was therefore only subordinate to the emperor. It was not until 1802 that the Reichsdeputationshauptschluss (Reichsdeputationshauptschluss) was incorporated into Bavaria.
