Built in 1987, Achna Dam is located in Ammochostos district, nestled between Dasaki Achna and Avgorou, has a capacity of 6.8 million cubic meters of water.
Since March 2008, the basin of the Achna dam has been included in the "Nature 2000" program as a special protection zone.
Many species of fish are caught here including mirror and carp, goldfish, roach, tilapia, sunfish and largemouth bass, all of which can be found in the dam. You can even catch the rare monster catfish that lurks in the depths!
