Unfortunately, when I was there, the tunnel was flooded. The motorway runs above the tunnel. Although some people have obviously climbed through the hole and crossed the highway at the top, this is life-threatening and absolutely not recommended. I didn't do this either, a little further there is a bridge over the motorway where you can safely get to the other side of the road.
