In April 1902, the main post office was built in the historicist style as a representative new building to relieve the pressure on the Imperial Post Office on Jahnplatz. In 1904, the post office and telegraph office moved in here. They remained there until 2003. Since then, the building has been the "Old Post Office", stood empty for a long time and was temporarily rented by the savings bank. Today, the center for practical teacher training (ZfsL) is housed here. 600 teachers are trained here every year. Other tenants are the International Association and Strabag.
