The Ravensberger spinning mill was built in 1855. It was one of the largest flax spinning mills in all of Europe - 20,000 spindles were used in the years that followed. Today, among other things, the adult education center is located in the historic premises.

The Ravensberger Spinnerei is a former flax spinning mill in Bielefeld in the Mitte district. Today, the converted factory buildings house the Bielefeld adult education centre, the Bielefeld Historical Museum, a discotheque, the municipal public order office, an arthouse cinema and a museum of applied arts.
