Today's three-storey town hall was built by the merchant family Uckermann as a trading post in the middle of the 17th century. It stands on the vaulted cellar of a former house that burned down during the Thirty Years' War. The clock of the old town hall, the weather vane and the storm bell were attached to the new town hall. The new year is still rung in by hand with this bell today.
