The three-storey brick tower was built in 1800 by the Walbersdorf Protestant parish, which today belongs to the Pöttelsdorf Protestant parish. During the Reformation, Walbersdorf was an important place of Lutheran teaching. The Counter-Reformation meant that after the Tolerance Patent of 1781, the neighboring community of Pöttelsdorf became a Protestant parish in place of Walbersdorf. Walbersdorf itself became a branch municipality. The economic strengthening of the evangelical community citizens then led to the fact that they had their own bell tower built.

Hiking

Affectionately called the "leaning tower" of Walbersdorf, it was built in 1800 a few meters from the Evangelical prayer house, off the main street, and since then the bell has been rung at evangelical services, funerals and every day at 11 a.m. or 6.30 p.m.
