A cloud of cobblestones. The Bremen artist Martina Benz arranged the chunks in her work of art “Cloudburst” in almost flowing movements. The sculpture is located in Hüde on Dümmersee in Lower Saxony. It was created in 2016 at a three-week symposium and is part of the “See Blick” project.

Many great little houses, that makes the settlement very nice and full of character. I find this philosophy of opening up tourism to the stupid much better than the concept of the M-Park in Lembruch

To be noticed and endure in public spaces, the works must both complement their surroundings and be eye-catching. The Bremen artist's works are therefore usually striking, often large. The Cloudburst is one example: the sculpture is 2.20 meters high and 2.50 meters wide.
A grayish slab forms the foundation. The stylized cloud of granite paving stones rests on a blue-colored concrete base and is anchored to it.
Rain breaks from the cloud. The stones fall to the ground in torrents.
The granite paving stones are central to the "Cloudburst."They all have a hole in the middle. Two sides are ground smooth so that the stones can be screwed together.Benz does this with all of her paving stone works.weser-kurier.de/bremen/kultur/bremer-kuenstlerin-martina-benz-ein-wolkenbruch-aus-steinen-doc7e4jc51y6mv1n6ujqcc7
