The building was founded in 1368 by Casimir the Great. Built of broken stone, in the Gothic style. The monastery was destroyed during the deluge. After the dissolution of the monastery in the 19th century, it housed a prison, a municipal court, and later a hotel and a cocktail bar. The Franciscans returned in 1991.
