Sequoias! I highly recommend this kid-friendly hiking loop in Tahoe National Forest. This sequoia grove is known for being the most northern Giant Sequoia Grove. The trees are about 500-700 years old. The biggest one is the Pershing Tree. You'll also find a couple fallen Giant Sequoias that fell over 150 years ago. One of them is the Roosevelt Tree. The trail walks right through the Roosevelt Tree.

Bring enough water because there might not be any available at the trail head.

Placer County Big Trees Grove is a lesser known grove of giant sequoia, which is great because you will most likely be able to run through the paths with the crowds normally associated with more popular groves.
