The Rubicon trail, famous particularly among 4x4 wheel enthusiasts, starts at Lake Tahoe, reaches the West side of Loon Lake after 19 unpaved miles, sometimes after days of slow crawling over big boulders and tight spots, and wraps here around to the east shore of Loon Lake.
