The "armholes" are two only intermittently pouring springs. The name "armholes" surely comes from "holes poor in water". Sometimes one speaks of sources of hunger in such phenomena. In periods of low rainfall, the two armholes are dry. When the snow melts and after heavy rainfall, water escapes from the shell limestone. However, the bulk quantity of the small armhole is significantly lower than that of the large armhole.
