A tough climb, 5% for around 2.8 miles. Maxes out around 24%. The first third of the climb is the toughest, only for fit cyclists really.

A ridiculous climb going south that forms part of the Pennine Cycleway. I was wished "good luck" just after leaving Settle so the locals know what it is like! I pushed for a good portion of it.
Excellent views though back over Settle and towards the Malham.

I have done this trip in reverse many times, and although hard is the most enjoyable as you can CYCLE ALL THE WAY! I am 75 now so haven’t tried it for about 6 years so would probably find it impossible , although I might give it one last try next year when I lose some of my weight.
