Walking past rain sodden sheep
A wet, evening wander in amongst the hills south of Hexham. This, my return leg, was a change from a primarily dry week and added real atmosphere to already dramatic countryside.

A most unsuitable ride for a small wheeled bike
Great fun riding on byways from yesteryears (mainly pushing), seeing rabbits, voles, numerous butterflies and birds, plus a summit to boot. Spectacular views.

Carlisle in late summer
It would have been churlish not to visit the great border city when the opportunity arose, hence here we were enjoying the historic centre in all its glory.

Hamsterley Forest with added Gruffalo
A walk around an area that I haven’t been to in a long while. The Gruffalo and other books were brought to life here in the deep dark woods. The pizza at the cafe was excellent.

Oughtershaw to Cowgill- Dalesway section
A great walk across the wilderness area of Cam High Road. Normally boggy in places, but very dry on the occasion that we did it.

Evening walk in Borrowdale
A relatively easy walk (with a simple scramble in the middle). Many people enjoying camping, including some pop up sites which have appeared during the summer.
