Part of the Settle to Carlisle Railway the Ribblehead Viaduct is an impressive structure. Completed in 1874 by a workforce of 2,300 men it is worth a visit for the photo opportunity alone.

Random fact on the viaduct is that the building company bought extra land for the local church due to the amount of fatal accidents during its construction. On a lighter note its a fantastic stop off point to get a bite to eat, and if you are lucky ypu will spot the odd bomber of fighter plane doing the loop.

Iconic photo opportunity. There is usually a burger van or two if you need food/drink, and a pub nearby

The climb up is great and the views once there make this well worth the effort

Great gravel section to throw into a ride, with amazing scenery. Get some good shots of your bike here as well!
