The original monument, inaugurated on April 29, 1923, having suffered greatly from the outrage of the years and even threatening to collapse, the Municipal Administration of Faimes took the decision to replace it (Point 9 of the deliberation of the Municipal Council of Faimes of June 22, 2009). Given the urgency, the old monument was dismantled and a temporary monument was erected so as not to leave the place empty and also to allow the commemorations of May 8.
