The Ness Islands are a group of small islands in the middle of the River Ness. The islands are connected by Victorian suspension bridges and are a lovely place to explore. The Ness Islands walk, roughly three miles (five kilometres), takes you past landmarks including the Ice Centre, Botanic Gardens, and Inverness Cathedral.

    Hiking

Surrounded by the River Ness you can go for a nice walk during the day or at night with colorful lighting. Normally, the West Highland Way also leads across the bridge into the city, however, the bridge at the end of the islands is chronically closed (signs point out).

You'll pass over the Ness Islands if you're undertaking the Great Glen Way, either by bike or on foot as you leave the city of Inverness.
