César Manrique deplored the disappearance of Lanzarote's traditional windmills.
His wind toys, made up of different geometric elements that rotate and interact with each other, are mainly found in Lanzarote.
After his death (1992) wind sculptures based on his designs were and are also set up on the other Canary Islands.
